OPEN HEAVEN 7 SEPTEMBER 2022 BIBLE READING 1 SAMUEL 16:15-23

15. And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.

16. Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.

17. And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now aman that can play well, and bring him to me.

18. Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.

19. Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which is with the sheep.

20. And Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son unto Saul.

21. And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer.

22. And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favor in my sight.

23. And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

OPEN HEAVEN 7 SEPTEMBER 2022 MESSAGE

Music is a very powerful spiritual tool. It is so powerful that it actually carries spirits in it. Whenever evil spirits were tormenting King Saul, David would play his own godly music and all the evil spirits disturbing the king would leave the environment.

When my Father-in-the-Lord was still with us here on earth, he taught us a lesson that the kind of music we play in our homes determines the kind of spirits that will be living with us. I used to love playing worldly music in those days.

That day when I realized that I had opened my home up to evil spirits because of the songs I was playing and singing along to, I eagerly rushed home after the service and destroyed all the cassettes.

Could it be that the reason you pray and your prayers don’t get answered is that the Holy Spirit of God does not find your home conducive to dwell in? Get rid of any such worldly songs in your home, phones, and any other device now.

Listen only to gospel songs and you will see the changes in your life within the next three months. When you wake up in the morning or are preparing to go out, sing praises to God.

At every opportunity you have, just keep singing to Him. Get some hymns and worship songs saved on your phone and listen to them as often as you can and your life will not remain the same.

“But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. 2 Kings 3:15”

I noticed many years ago that whenever the choir sang before I came up to preach, if they did very well, the Holy Spirit would flow seamlessly once I mounted the altar, but if they did not do so well, I would have to struggle a little at the beginning of the sermon before the Spirit begins to flow.

I then discovered a minstrel who could play the saxophone and cause the Spirit of God to move greatly. I told him to start playing right before I would come up to preach. That way, when the Spirit is already moving and this my son plays the saxophone, the power of God would already be at work all around the auditorium, with prophecies and miracles flowing soon after.

Start using the power in godly music as from today.

Open Heaven 6 September 2022 TOPIC: Why Do Sinners Flourish?

MEMORISE: “When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed forever:” – Psalm 92:7 (KJV)

READ: Psalm 37:1-11 (KJV)

1: Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2: For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3: Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4: Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5: Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6: And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

7: Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8: Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Open Heaven 6 September 2022 MESSAGE:

Many people keep wondering why sinners are flourishing while some believers don’t have enough. Well, one of the reasons is that the devil is preparing those sinners as rams for slaughter, as we see in today’s memory verse.

What the devil does is to give something worth an amount of money, say 1 million dollars, to his victims and then take something that money cannot buy from them. The 1 million dollars will seem like a lot, but when they compare it to what he took from them, they would then realize that they have been stolen from, killed, and destroyed.

That is the mission statement of the devil as revealed to us by Jesus Christ in John 10:10. Thus, when it appears as if a wicked person is prospering from his or her wickedness, don’t envy their wealth; the reason the devil is prospering them is so that he can destroy them forever.

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof… – Ecclesiastes 7:8

When someone gets wealth from the devil, he would only enjoy it for a while and at the end of the day, end up destroyed. When that end comes, you see the fellow preferring to let go of all the riches and embrace Christ. Such a person becomes sorrowful and all the money would mean nothing once the fellow realizes that he or she is heading for destruction. That is why Psalm 37:16 says; “A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked”.

It is better to have only a little and end up in heaven than to gain the whole world and lose your soul. In any case, God said His wish for you is that you prosper (3 John 2) even as your soul prospers, so don’t go into sin because you want to prosper; God already has prosperity in store for you in the salvation package.

You, however, need to live holy. He said in Deuteronomy 28:1-2 that if you hearken diligently to His word, He will set you on high above the nations of the earth. He said blessings will pursue and overtake you. That is the kind of blessing I like; the one that will pursue and overtake me, while at the end of the day, I would still end up in heaven. That is the kind of prosperity I like, not that of the wicked.
